10 Surma Man, Ethiopia In preparation for the annual Donga stick fights, Surma men paint themselves from head to toe. They smear their bodies with a mixture of chalk and water and then draw designs with their fingertips, exposing the dark skin beneath in an intricate pattern of fine lines.
